About QP — Quantum Awareness

Karmapa and the gang at KIBI Quantum Awareness

I am QP — the Quantum Preceptor. Welcome to Quantum Awareness.

For nearly a decade this site has been a free exploration of one question: what happens when you put quantum physics, neuroscience, and Buddhist philosophy in the same room and let them talk to each other? The answer, it turns out, is that they have a great deal to say — and that the conversation changes how you see everything.

I am not a scientist. I am a Buddhist — specifically a Karma Kagyu Vajrayana practitioner, a lineage that operates under the guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje. I meditate daily. I have been doing so for a long time. The Buddhadharma is the ground everything here grows from.

What I am is someone who finds the resonances between these worlds genuinely astonishing — and who believes that most people drawn to any one of them would be transformed by encountering the others. Scientists who have never sat in formal meditation. Buddhists who have never looked at a quantum field equation. Curious people who sense that the standard materialist picture of reality is missing something but don’t know where to look.

This is where to look.

What You’ll Find Here at Quantum Awareness

The Quantum Awareness Podcast — available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube — takes these conversations into audio, where they breathe differently. Seven episodes in, with many more coming.

The Six Yogas of Naropa series is the most detailed work on the site — a practitioner’s account of the complete system of Vajrayana completion stage practices, written for anyone who wants to understand what these practices actually are and what they do.

The Black Crown of the Karmapa is the deepest single page — a meditation on the most sacred object in the Karma Kagyu lineage, written after years of sitting with it as a focal point of practice.

The blog is where everything else lives — consciousness, impermanence, Carl Jung, Schrödinger, dependent origination, the bardo, the nature of mind. A decade of exploration, still going.

A Note on Being Wrong

I am not an authority. If anything I write here contradicts your understanding of quantum mechanics, neuroscience, psychology, or the Buddhadharma — please tell me. I am here to learn and to share, not to pronounce. The conversations in the comments are part of the teaching.

Where This Is Going

Quantum Awareness is not just a website. It is a book in progress — Tears of a Buddha: How a Teardrop Reaches the Ocean, the title can change — and each episode of the podcast is a tested chapter. The Six Yogas series, the Black Crown page, the explorations of consciousness and quantum mechanics — all of it is building toward something larger. A unified account of what happens when the most precise contemplative technology humanity has ever developed meets the most precise scientific description of reality we currently have.

That meeting is not metaphor. It is not New Age appropriation. It is a genuine structural resonance between two traditions that arrived at the same questions from opposite directions — and whose answers, when placed alongside each other, illuminate both.

This is the work. It moves slowly and organically, the way understanding actually moves. There is no rush. The dharma has been patient for 2,500 years.

Support the Work

Quantum Awareness will always be free. The dharma has no paywall.

If these teachings have helped your practice or shifted how you see reality, you can support the work at Ko-fi. Generosity — dana — is the first of the six paramitas. As the Buddha taught, it benefits both giver and receiver.
